Gila River Indian Community works to preserve resources
In the Gila River Indian Community, a "two birds with one stone" type of project is happening along the canals. Solar panels are being installed right on top of the Casa Blanca Canal. They not only provide clean energy, but reduce evaporation of the tribe's water. The canal is one of the tribe's most important. Tribal leaders say this project will help maximize their water use for crops and other needs.
