Interstate 10 reopened after law enforcement situation caused road closure in both directions
PHOENIX - Interstate 10 was closed in both directions for a law enforcement situation at 7th Street.
Officers later said a man was seen on the overpass sign that crosses the freeway.
The man was eventually negotiated down from the overpass for medical attention.
Police quickly opened up lanes in the eastbound direction. The westbound lanes were reopened around 9:35 p.m.
Major traffic jams ensued through the I-10 Tunnel eastbound and from 7th Street to the Mini Stack at State Route 51.
Interstate 10 is the main freeway line that gets people to and from downtown Phoenix.
