Chandler City Council advances teen violence ordinances

The Chandler City Council advanced two proposals on Thursday night focused on preventing teen violence, including a proposal that would ban anyone under the age of 18 from having brass knuckles. The father of Preston Lord also spoke out during the meeting. FOX 10's Dominique Newland reports.

Preston Lord murder: Suspects appear in court

It was a rather tense day in court on May 9, as the suspects in the murder of East Valley teen Preston Lord appeared in court. The suspects are accused of murder and kidnapping. FOX 10's Lauren Clark reports.

Preston Lord murder suspects due in court

William Hines, Talyn Vigil, Taylor Sherman, Dominic Turner, Treston Billey, Talan Renner and Jacob Meisner face murder and kidnapping charges in the death of Lord, 16, who was assaulted during a Halloween party on Oct. 28, 2023, in Queen Creek. Lord died at the hospital two days later.

'Gilbert Goons' classified as a criminal street gang

The “Gilbert Goons" have been formally declared a “criminal street gang." As for those involved, police say members primarily attended east Valley schools, drank underage, used illegal drugs and "participated in a fight club type of agreement." FOX 10's Ellen McNamara has the latest.

Group sessions held in Chandler on teen violence

Six months have passed since the death of 16-year-old Preston Lord as he was brutally beaten at a Halloween party. To address teen violence, the city of Chandler on Monday listened to community voices in collaborative small-group sessions. FOX 10's Kenzie Beach has the story.

Preston Lord murder suspect to appear in court

This week, one of the teens charged in the murder of Preston Lord will appear in court. Seven people were arrested in connection to the death of the east Valley teen in 2023. One is 17-year-old Talan Renner, who is charged with first-degree murder. He will be in court on Tuesday.

Queen Creek PD details Preston Lord investigation

Queen Creek Chief Randy Brice details the investigative steps into the Preston Lord murder case. "Throughout the investigation, the police department balanced the public’s request for information and public record disclosure laws with preserving the integrity of the investigation and prosecutorial process," the department said.
