Yuma County board picks Don Shooter replacement

PHOENIX (AP) - The Yuma County Board of Supervisors has named a local farmer to replace a Republican state lawmaker who was expelled following sexual harassment allegations.

The board on Monday chose Tim Dunn to replace former Rep. Don Shooter. The Arizona House voted 56-3 to expel Shooter on Feb. 1.

Republican committee members in Shooter's 13th Legislative District nominated three party members as potential replacements. The board interviewed them Monday and then picked Dunn over Cora Lee Schingnitz and Paul Brierley.

Dunn is a grain and vegetable grower who also runs a seed marketing business.

The district runs from the western Phoenix suburbs to Yuma.
