Valley reaches 100°F for the first time in 2019

PHOENIX (FOX 10) -- The Valley has reached 100°F for the first time in 2019, according to the National Weather Service.

According to NWS officials, the Valley reached 100°F at 2:10 p.m, and on average, the Valley hits 100°F for the first time of the year by May 2, but it has come as early as March 16 in 1988, and as late as June 18, as was the case in 1913.

In 2018, the Valley saw its first 100°F day on April 10, according to NWS records. That was followed by 16 days of double-digit temperatures, including three days with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s, before seeing another 100°F day on April 27.
