Teenage girl shot by boyfriend in Phoenix, police say
PHOENIX - A man has been arrested after he allegedly shot his teenage girlfriend in Phoenix early Friday morning.
The shooting happened at around 5:30 a.m. near 20th Avenue and Grand, and the 22-year-old suspect is in custody.
Police say the 17-year-old girl was shot in the leg but is expected to be okay. The two were reportedly arguing over a breakup when the man opened fire.
The man left before police arrived, but returned after the victim's parent called him.
The investigation is ongoing. No names were released.
