Suspicious letter with white powder sent to Eric Trump, report

NEW YORK (FOX5NY) - The NYPD says law enforcement is examining a suspicious letter mailed to 100 Central Park South with a white powder inside. That letter was reportedly addressed to GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump's son, Eric Trump.

The letter also contained a threatening message aimed at Donald Trump's five children. Eric Trump is the real estate mogul's third oldest child. The NYPD says that they got the call about 7:15 p.m. on Thursday evening.

The letter reportedly read that Trump's children will be harmed if the GOP front-runner does not withdraw from the presidential election.

A source tells the Associated Press that the envelope sent to Eric Trump's apartment on Thursday did not cause any injuries and that preliminary tests indicated that the white substance was not hazardous.

The incident came the same day that the hacker group Anonymous released what it claimed was Donald Trump's mobile phone number and Social Security number. The group previously claimed that it was going to direct an attack on Trump's internet properties on April 1st.
