Siphon Fire: Evacuation orders lifted
All evacuation orders related to the Siphon Fire have been lifted by officials. The fire has burned more than 15,500 acres in the Superstition Mountains as of Monday, and it is 32% contained.
PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. - Evacuations have been lifted as crews have gained some containment on a wildfire that is burning in the East Valley.
The Siphon Fire sparked on Sept. 10 in a remote area of the Superstition Mountains northeast of Apache Junction.
The fire is estimated to be 15,527 acres. It is 32% contained. There are more than 80 firefighting personnel battling the fire.
"The public is advised to avoid the First Water, Boulder, Siphon Trails and Forest Road 78 while the Siphon Fire is active," Tonto National Forest officials said.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
