FORT MCDOWELL, Ariz. - A brush fire temporarily closed a highway south of Fountain Hills.
The southbound lanes of State Route 87 were shut down at Shea Boulevard, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
Lanes opened back up Monday evening after the fire was confirmed to be under control.

Crews battle fire southeast of Fountain Hills
The brush fire broke out Monday afternoon, and crews with multiple fire agencies responded. They also got some help from airtankers.
