Arizona weather forecast: Highs dropping into the 90s this weekend in Phoenix
Evening Weather Forecast - 3/29/26
Isolated storms and cooler weather are in store for the week ahead, following a weekend in the 90s. FOX 10's Ashley Loaeza has more on when Arizona can expect the cloudy and gusty weather.
PHOENIX - The last weekend of March was off to a hot start with another record-breaking day.
Sunday:
A backdoor cold front brought in gusty winds across the state this morning, which led to reduced visibility. Winds for the rest of the day in the Valley were calmer with only light to breezy winds.
Another hot day brought Phoenix's temperature to reach 96°. Today fell 1° short of breaking another record of 97° with the average still sitting in the 80s.
Tonight we can expect some isolated thunderstorms developing across southern Arizona. Areas across the Valley will be under the risk for general thunderstorms, with Phoenix looking at a potential for gusty outflow of winds coming from storms to the south.
The Week Ahead:
We will begin to see a pattern shift with temperatures dropping into the 80s. Our next system will bring moisture mainly to higher terrain beginning on Sunday and Monday.
Rain chances will continue on Monday along higher terrain with increasing clouds towards the middle of the week due to storms from the west. The remainder of the forecast will be sunny and dry in the Valley.
By late next week into the weekend temperatures will rebound back into the 90s with above average temperatures continuing through the first week of April.
Saturday:
Phoenix hit a high of 96 degrees, with the average sitting at 82 degrees. Today’s high broke our 1986 record of 95 degrees!
