PHOENIX - All treat, and no trick on the Halloween forecast!
Temperatures on Halloween warm to around 80 degrees in Phoenix, and fall through the 70s during trick-or-treating.
In the High Country, Payson and Prescott will be in the middle-upper 50s around 6 p.m. and in Flagstaff the temperature will be around 45 degrees for trick-or-treaters.
It will turn chilly again overnight. Lows fall into the upper 40s and lower 50s in Phoenix by Friday morning. In the afternoon, some more mild air pushes up from the south and bumps afternoon temperatures into the low 80s around Phoenix. The slightly more mild air holds onto the region through Saturday.
However, by Sunday, our next system moves in. The storm builds over the Pacific Northwest, then slides down the California coast through Friday and Saturday.
By Sunday morning, the system will move into Arizona with a cold front. This storm will bring the potential for rain, mountain snow, gusty winds, and cooler temperatures. For now, it appears the storm will track over northern Arizona – which gives the best chance for rain/snow to areas north and east of the Valley into the higher elevations.
However, if the storm shifts a bit further south, rain chances will increase for Phoenix. Currently, the rain chance sits at 40% in Phoenix with highs only in the low 70s during the afternoon.
It's too early for exact snow totals, but several inches will be possible over the highest elevations in areas like the San Francisco Peaks. Up to an inch may be possible in Flagstaff.
By early Monday, the storm will exit to the east and the state starts drying out. Highs remain comfortable in the 70s through next week.
