Chandler to adopt ordinance targeting animal abuse
During a meeting on Nov. 9, city officials are expected to tentatively adopt a new ordinance that specifically targets animal abuse. The new ordinance comes after April McLaughlin was found to have more than 55 dogs living inside her Chandler home. Several of the dogs died. McLaughlin's elderly mother was also forced to live inside the home that was filled with trash and feces. McLaughlin remains under investigation for animal hoarding and elderly abuse.
