Arizona Water Crisis: Federal government looking at paying farmers to idle some farmland

The Bureau of Reclamation is reportedly looking at paying farmers in parts of Arizona's Yuma County to idle some fields, as a way to decrease their use of Colorado River water amid the ongoing drought. The money would come from the $4 billion set aside for western drought aid in the Inflation Reduction Act.
