The FBI confirmed to reporters in Florida Wednesday that investigators found what appear to be human remains, "along with personal items, such as a backpack and notebook belonging to Brian Laundrie," just hours after Laundrie's parents searched the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.

The search for Brian Laundrie heated back up Wednesday after the fugitive’s parents arrived at the swampy North Port preserve where "some articles belonging to Brian were found." FOX News now reports human remains may have also been found.

“I said, ‘You might want to change your appearance for a while or this will continue to happen where you go,’” Graham County Sheriff Jerry Crisp told Severin Beckwith, the Brian Laundrie doppelgänger.

Brian Laundrie's former co-worker said he had the personality of a "chameleon" who sometimes lost his temper. Though he never witnessed Laundrie being abusive to his now-deceased fiancée, Gabby Petito, he said Laundrie did appear to get jealous and possessive if he spotted her talking to other guys.

Governor Ron DeSantis said law enforcement has been working nonstop to try and find Laundrie, but said he was frustrated the only person of interest in the disappearance and death of Gabby Petito had not been found.

Brian Laundrie’s whereabouts remain unknown almost four weeks after his parents say they last saw him leaving their North Port home. While law enforcement continues to search the Carlton Reserve, there have also been a series of reported possible sightings of Laundrie along the Appalachian Trail -- an area one avid hiker says is an ideal place to "get lost."
