Woman shot in Litchfield Park after apparent home invasion

"Preliminary information was that possibly three suspects entered the home and shots were fired," officials said.

"We'll probably be loading up everything we own."

That's the reaction from one Litchfield Park resident, saying they've had break-ins in the area before, but never something like this.

"It's never been this bad, I mean, it's just been young kids stealing stuff out of cars or breaking into backyards, but shooting people – we don't see that," one neighbor said.

The big concern for a lot of these people is their kids.

"That's the only thing I worry about. I will do anything to protect my family," said a neighbor.

"It's terrifying, everyone here has children, so the fact that this is happening in our backyards is scary," a neighbor said.
