Mother dead, 3 boys injured after suspected DUI crash in north Phoenix

The family of Garcia is grieving after the mother was killed while driving home from what was a fun, celebratory night with loved ones.

Now, they are working through the grief after losing Garcia.

She, her husband and their three children were on their way home from celebrating the holiday with their family. Garcia's family says when they were hit, she leaned over to protect her children from taking the impact.

Cynthia Ortiz, Garcia's sister, said, "She was a great sister, a great aunt to my daughter, and great mom to three kids. Anyone knows she is a good person overall."

She's remembered as an amazing mom and giving person.

"I don't know what to do, I don't know how to go home, I don't know how to wait for her to call me to pick her up from work, I don't know how we are all going to do with my sons. We are taking it day by day," said Francisco Murrieta, her husband. "We can’t plan ahead anymore. We had plans, and now we can’t do that anymore."

A GoFundMe has been set up for Garcia, and it can be found here https://gofund.me/5b1879b5.
