CRS Temporary Housing is now helping those affected by the Thomas wildfire in Southern California.

"We help thousands of families a month all over the country that are dealing with some sort of property loss," Stephanie Bundgaard said. "We will set them up in a hotel within one hour and have homes for long-term homes for them to use. Single family homes for them to use, apartments, townhomes shortly there after if they did suffer a large loss."

The blaze began nearly a week ago and has blackened an estimated 230,000 acres and destroyed hundreds of homes.

"They have a lot going on in their life," Bundgaard said. "Most of these families are running out with just the clothes that they're wearing and we're here to come alongside them and help them find shelter and a place to stay while they focus on rebuilding their lives and rebuilding the homes that they've lost."

The fire is just 15 percent contained. CRS is based in Arizona but provides much needed immediate help to people across the country who have been affected by any natural disaster.

"We have a network of relationships all over the country, so we do have folks that we can reach out to when we do need a home and obviously have strategic relationships with hotels and that kind of stuff, as we'll ultimately work with insurance companies to see what the family needs," Bundgaard said.
