Trial for Prescott murder suspect to begin this week
PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - A jury will begin hearing testimony this week in the murder trial of a man accused of killing his lover's husband in Prescott and dumping his body at a New Mexico airport.
The Daily Courier reports that opening statements are scheduled to start Wednesday in the case against Marzet Farris III.
Farris and Laura Stelmasek are charged with first-degree murder and concealment of a dead body.
Authorities say they fatally stabbed Craig Stelmasek and left his body in a van at Albuquerque International Sunport airport in June 2011. They were arrested more than a week later at Farris' home near Raleigh, North Carolina.
A judge ruled last month that Farris and Stelmasek would be tried separately.
