TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - A Tempe man is facing child abuse charges after police say he left his 3-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son home alone.
Authorities say 34-year-old Tom Bobo Jr. left the children inside his apartment Tuesday morning while he dropped off two other sons at school. He then put gasoline in his vehicle and went to a Tempe park to relax.
Tempe police say the two young children were without any supervision for at least 90 minutes.
A neighbor heard the children crying and saw them walking around outside their apartment.
Police say the rear door of the apartment was unlocked and the front door's latch lock is easily opened and didn't have any child-proofing.
Bobo is jailed on a $2,500 bond. He didn't have a lawyer at Wednesday's initial court appearance.
