Tempe fire breaks out sending black smoke into air that can be seen for miles
TEMPE, Ariz. - A fire broke out in Tempe on the afternoon of Sunday, June 12, sending black smoke into the air.
The fire, named the Quiet Fire, near Loop 202 and Priest Drive could be seen from Sky Harbor around 3:40 p.m.
The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management and the Tempe Fire Department battled this fire.
