UPDATE: All 200 raffle tickets were sold, totaling $20,000, and the winner was Micheal Bennie. Shade Tree Academy says he donated the guitar back to the school, and they raised another $15,000 in the same night.

The school shared a statement saying, "We are so grateful to the community who jumped in to support us in providing hope, healing and trauma-focused education for children that have been impacted by foster care! Your support will help generations to come."

Taylor Swift signed guitar auctioned off for a good cause

Original story below:

A signed guitar from Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is up for auction and the proceeds will go to a school that helps empower Arizona children in foster care.

Shade Tree Academy announced the raffle on Feb. 7, saying the money raised will go toward the nonprofit that's described as a "trauma-focused school providing a supportive and healing environment to help children that have been impacted by foster care thrive in school and in life."

Each raffle ticket is $100.

Susan Mulhearn, director of Shade Tree Academy, says the guitar, which was played during the Eras Tour, was donated to the school.

They've never held a raffle before to raise money, Mulhearn said, so this being the first item they raffle off is a big deal for the school.
