SUV driver detained after crashing into Ahwatukee home: police

The driver of an SUV who crashed into a home in Ahwatukee late Tuesday night has been detained, police said.

The crash happened just before 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 28 near 44th Street and Chandler Boulevard.

What we know:

Phoenix Police say officers responded to the scene and found the crash.

The driver was detained and taken to hospital for precautionary reasons and processed for DUI.

FOX 10 video from the scene showed a black SUV covered by caution tape, crashed into the garage. A wall of the home was also severely damaged. No one inside the house was hurt.
