SR51 North back open following crash

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - ADOT officials say State Route 51 north has reopened, following a crash Thursday afternoon.

According to officials, all traffic left the freeway at Greenway during the crash. According to DPS officials, the one-car crash happened at around 1:49 p.m., when a red passenger car struck a light pole off to the right of the freeway. The car burst into flames after it hit the pole.

DPS officials say people were initially trapped in the car, but all were extricated. Serious injuries were reported.
