Chad Daybell in court ahead of murder trial

Chad Daybell, the husband of 'Doomsday Mom' Lori Vallow, appeared in an Idaho courtroom on the morning of Feb. 22, as his triple murder trial is set to begin in five weeks. Daybell is accused killing Joshua ‘JJ’ Vallow and Tylee Ryan. He is also accused of killing his first wife, Tammy, in 2019.

She was extradited to Arizona from Idaho in 2023 and faces murder conspiracy charges after being accused of plotting to kill her ex-husband Charles Vallow and attempting to kill the former husband of her niece.

The trial delay came as a result of a ruling by a judge to designate Lori Vallow's case as 'complex.' Vallow was already sentenced to life in prison by a judge in Idaho for killing two of her children, and conspiring to kill her current husband's first wife.

According to reports, the judge overseeing Lori Vallow's case in Arizona has agreed to designate the case as "complex," a move that will allow prosecutors, as well as the defense, to have more time to gather evidence. The trial, which was originally scheduled to start in April, will be pushed back as a result. The two sides now have until late February to agree on some of the specifics of these, including a new trial date.
