The shooting happened near Downtown Phoenix, near 5th Avenue and Culver. Police are asking people to 'stay locked in their homes' as they conduct a police K-9 search of the area. FOX 10's Lauren Clark reports.

Phoenix Police officials say an arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that left another person with life-threatening injuries.

According to a statement, 35-year-old Terrence Felder was arrested for what police say is the attempted murder of another man.

The shooting happened on June 15. According to Phoenix Police, a trooper with the Arizona Department of Public Safety was patrolling in the area of 5th Avenue and Culver Street when he was alerted to a shooting nearby.

"The trooper saw a man fall to the ground and another man running away. As more officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a critical gunshot wound. Phoenix Fire personnel took the man to the hospital where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries," read a portion of the statement.

Felder, according to police, was eventually located after officers searched the area. He has been booked into Maricopa County Jail, and he is accused of attempted homicide.
