Search for missing Grand Canyon tour guide scaled back
GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities at Grand Canyon National Park say they've vastly scaled back the search for a Wyoming man who went missing after a hike.
Park officials say 22-year-old Morgan Heimer was working as a tour guide on a commercial rafting trip on the Colorado River when he disappeared on June 2.
Park officials they conducted an extensive six-day search but turned up no sign of the Cody resident.
They said Monday they've called off the active search, but pilots and park rangers will keep looking for clues when they are in the area.
Park officials say they've posted fliers and will brief all rafters when they set off down the river.
Heimer was last seen wearing a personal flotation device and also had a water bottle with him.
