Man injured after being shot by Phoenix police near 17th Avenue and Indian School Road

Phoenix police say a man is in critical but stable condition after being shot by officers near 17th Avenue and Indian School Road.

According to Phoenix police, officers responded to the scene just before 6 a.m. on Nov. 13 and saw a man and woman fighting.

As officers approached the man, he ran away and pulled out a gun. The man refused to stop and led officers on a foot chase through a nearby parking lot.

Officers opened fire, striking the suspect. He was transported by firefighters to a nearby hospital.

No officers were injured.
