PHOENIX - Phoenix Police say an argument led to a deadly shooting in a strip mall parking lot near 19th Avenue and Bell Road on Saturday, Sept. 10.
Officers were called to the area at around 4:15 p.m. that day and discovered an 18-year-old man who had been shot multiple times.
He was identified as Miguel Rosas.
Police were also guided to a woman inside one of the businesses in the strip mall who had been hit by a stray bullet. She was hospitalized but is expected to survive.
"Preliminary information suggests there was an exchange of gunfire between a few individuals in the strip mall parking lot. It is believed Rosas was an intended target and the woman was uninvolved and struck by the reckless gunfire," police said in a statement.
Three people were detained but were later released.
Two days later, Phoenix Police said investigators arrested the suspect in this case. He's a juvenile in his late teens and is accused of felony charges including second-degree murder.
