PHOENIX - Phoenix investigators say a driver was killed after running a red light and causing a crash, sending his four passengers and the other driver to the hospital Sunday.
The two-vehicle collision happened near 35th Avenue and Van Buren at around 5:15 a.m. Fire crews said at least two people needed to be extricated out of their vehicles.
The man who died, 20-year-old old Sergio De Le Torre Quintero, allegedly was driving down Van Buren when he ran a red light at 35th Avenue. He crashed into another vehicle, sending the other driver to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Quintero died at the scene of the crash. Four passengers in his car - three men and a teenage girl - were all seriously injured but are in stable condition.
Police say speed and impairment are believed to be a factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
