Man shot dead near Phoenix park

Phoenix Police officials say their detectives are looking into what led to a shooting that killed a man on June 16 near Papago Park. Besides the man, another woman was treated for minor injuries. Police say the woman did not appear to be injured by gunfire.

A woman was also hurt, but police say her injuries are minor and not consistent with a gunshot wound.

An adult man was detained at the scene who reportedly had been in an argument with Lemons. Both of them were armed.

"It was while the argument was taking place that the shooting occurred," said Sgt. Rob Scherer with Phoenix PD.

Police say both the man and woman involved were released, and the case is being sent to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office for review.
