Officer-involved crash shuts down streets in west Phoenix
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Two officers were taken to the hospital after a crash that shut down streets in west Phoenix on Sunday morning.
The crash involving a police cruiser happened overnight on Bethany Home Road near 26th Avenue. Police say two Phoenix police officers were in their patrol vehicle looking into an unrelated crash when they were rear-ended. Both officers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect is expected to be booked for DUI.
Westbound traffic on Bethany Home Road has been shut down between I-17 and 29th Avenue while officers investigated.
