PHOENIX - Two people have died after a car crashed into a power pole in north Phoenix.
According to Phoenix Police, the crash happened at 35th Avenue and Thunderbird Road after a red car sped through the intersection, sideswiping another car traveling the same direction.
The red car lost control and crashed into an electrical pole and a block wall behind it, officials said.
Two 17-year-olds in the car died, and an adult male was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. The teens were identified as Aron Heeley and Payton Sharp.
APS officials have since said that a transformer was damaged in the area. APS officials reported power loss that affected approximately five customers.
The crash is still under investigation.
