Mourners gathered at public memorial for Rose Mofford
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A memorial service took place on Sunday to remember the late Arizona Governor Rose Mofford.
The public memorial and celebration of Mofford's life began at 1:30 p.m. at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown Phoenix.
All six living Arizona governors -- Bruce Babbitt, Fife Symington, Jane Hull, Jan Brewer, Janet Napolitano, and Doug Ducey -- attended the service.
Mofford served as governor from 1988 to 1991. She died on September 15 at the age of 94.
Doors for the Sunday memorial service opened at 12:30 p.m. Family and friends asked that instead of flowers, donations be directed to St. Mary's Food Bank, St. Vincent de Paul or Hospice of the Valley.
