Overnight monsoon brings rain to Phoenix

After some evening rain in the east Valley, much more of the Phoenix area saw rain overnight. FOX 10's Danielle Miller is taking a look at last night's monsoon activity.

The monsoon reappeared in the Valley Tuesday night, bringing thunderstorms from the east and bringing rain to Phoenix overnight.

Damaging winds were predicted as thunderstorms moved through Phoenix, Scottsdale and Paradise Valley.

"We've seen a few storms rapidly developing across the Phoenix Metro. Expect strong winds and heavy downpours if you get under one!" the National Weather Service said on social media at 8:28 p.m.

Although the warning expired, rain was still seen falling in parts of Phoenix that lasted overnight.

Showers came down in downtown Phoenix at around midnight, although the downpour was brief.

Earlier in the evening, a small but steady monsoon thunderstorm didn't last too long as it moved through East Mesa and Apache Junction.
