Minneapolis cops buy groceries, light bulbs after heartaching discovery

To protect with courage, to serve with compassion. That's the motto of the Minneapolis Police Department, and that's exactly what the officers of Car 530 did Saturday night.

Officers gave a ride to a 90-year-old man who was involved in a car accident, but discovered he had no working light bulbs in his house and no food in his refrigerator. Following the accident, he also didn't have a car to go the store, so the officers made a trip to the grocery store to purchase a bag of groceries and some light bulbs.

After lighting the man's home and stocking his refrigerator, the officers contacted Meals on Wheels to ensure he gets a regular supply of food.
