Noise complaint escalates to a shooting in Mesa, suspect fled scene

Mesa Police are investigating a shooting in a neighborhood near Main Street and Greenfield Road.

Detective Brandi Myers says the situation began with a noise complaint, where the caller reported loud yelling.

"The caller described the disturbance escalating into a physical fight involving multiple people and heard what sounded like a gunshot."

While officers headed to the scene, the caller reported that several people entered a red vehicle, followed by more gunfire.

Another 911 call was received from someone at the home, stating a person had been shot.

"Upon arrival, officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound. He was moved to a secure area where emergency first aid was administered and has since been transported to the hospital. His current condition is unknown," said Myers.

Police say preliminary information indicates the possible suspect fled the scene in a red vehicle.

Myers says the investigation is ongoing.

No names or a suspect description have been released in this case.
