Deadly Gilbert stabbing suspect arrested

Gilbert detectives have arrested a suspect after a man was found stabbed to death in a parking lot near Ash Street and Vaughn last weekend.

Gilbert detectives have arrested a suspect after a man was found with multiple stab wounds in a parking lot last weekend.

The victim, identified as 22-year-old Isaiah Panez, was found severely injured near Ash Street and Vaughn Avenue at 1:16 a.m. on June 18. He died from his injuries in the hospital.

His alleged killer, 36-year-old Dennis Pacheco, was arrested on Tuesday in Tempe.

The 22-year-old victim's girlfriend told officers she and Panez had left a bar early Sunday morning when the couple got into a fight with three men.

Panez suffered seven stab wounds to the chest.

Pacheco, who is accused of second degree murder, has a history of arrests, including for robbery and theft.

18-year-old shot, killed during Gilbert house party

The shooting happened just after midnight on June 18 in a neighborhood near Baseline Road and Ash Street.
