Argument over downtown Phoenix parking spot ends in shooting

A man was shot multiple times near 2nd Avenue and Fillmore after an argument over a parking spot, a witness said Wednesday night.

A man is dead after he was shot multiple times in downtown Phoenix, and witnesses say it happened after an argument over a parking spot.

Ricardo Martinez, 39, was hospitalized in life-threatening condition after the shooting near 2nd Avenue and Fillmore. Martinez later died at the hospital from his injuries.

FOX 10 crews heard seven to eight shots in the area when the shooting happened.

The suspect left the area, but returned and was and questioned by detectives.

The shooting is still under investigation. No arrested have been made at this time. The case will be submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, police said.
