Man killed in Phoenix stabbing; suspect not caught
PHOENIX - A suspect was arrested a month after a deadly stabbing in Phoenix on Sept. 14, police said.
The stabbing happened near a gas station located at 28th Avenue and Thunderbird Road around 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 14.
"When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a stab wound. The fire department responded and transported the man to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Officers searched for witnesses and surveillance of the incident," says Phoenix Police Sgt. Phil Krynsky.
The victim is identified as Diego Razo-Cortes, 34.
On Oct. 15, Phoenix Police said 47-year-old Jason Fleming was arrested in connection to the stabbing. He's accused of murder.

His arrest came after weeks of investigation.
"Since the homicide investigation began, detectives have collected multiple elements of evidence to include surveillance footage, that led to the identification of a possible suspect. Probable cause was established to arrest Fleming for the murder. A search for Fleming was unsuccessful in locating him," Phoenix Police Sgt.
It was when officers responded to reports of trespassing that Fleming was arrested.
