Woman fatally stabbed her boyfriend, police say

Esperanza Bautista Valencia, 52, allegedly called 911 saying that she stabbed her boyfriend at a home near Thomas Road and 51st Avenue. Valencia was arrested. The victim did not survive. He was not identified.

A man was stabbed to death in Phoenix on Sunday and his girlfriend is the suspect, police say.

The victim, identified as 50-year-old Jose Deleon, was found dead in a home's driveway around 12:10 p.m. on May 19 near Thomas Road and 51st Avenue, police said.

Police released more information the next day saying 52-year-old Esperanza Bautista Valencia called 911 and said she stabbed her boyfriend. She was arrested.

She was booked into jail on suspicion of homicide. She has a $1,000,000 bond.

Police didn't say what led up to Deleon's death.
