PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Police say a man is in custody following an officer-involved shooting and pursuit in the Valley.

According to Scottsdale police, an officer pulled over 26-year-old Joseph Zamora near 74th Street and Cactus just after 11:30 p.m. on Sunday night.

Police say Zamora did not obey the officer's orders and as the officer tried to restrain him, Zamora sped away, dragging the officer along with him for several feet before he was able to free himself from the vehicle.

Zamora then spun his vehicle around and accelerated towards the officer, who opened fire at the suspect.

Other Scottsdale police officers responding to the scene began to pursue Zamora, but the pursuit was quickly stopped due to his dangerous driving behavior.

Zamora was then taken into custody after crashing into another car near 32nd Street and Broadway Road.

No officers were seriously injured.

Zamora faces charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, felony flight and endangerment.
