GLENDALE, Ariz. (FOX 10) -- Court documents obtained by FOX 10 shows details a series of vandalism incidents that culminated in a man allegedly flooding the Glendale airport terminal by dragging a hose into the building.
The man, identified as 23-year-old Timothy Tan Guan, has been charged with a count of felony criminal damage, and a count of felony aggravated criminal damage. The series of incidents began on November 7 2018, when the airport and surrounding businesses have experienced a string of criminal damage incidents that escalated in severity. Initially, the suspect was egging structures, which later graduated to egging and breaking of windows, and later escalated to multiple broken windows.
According to court documents, just after 1:42 a.m. on January 4, video cameras at the airport captured Guan at the location, showing him using a hammer to break multiple windows at the airport, and then dragging a hose into the terminal, turned on the water, and flooded the airport's first floor. It is estimated that the flood caused $70,000 in damages. The flood also caused the shutdown of a flight school program at the airport.
Guan, according to court documents, returned to the terminal on January 6, and was caught by an employee manipulating a water spigot that he allegedly used to flood the terminal. Guan then got into a car, and was able to flee the scene. Guan was arrested on the 9800 block of W. Camelback Road in Phoenix, at around 9:15 on January 6.
During a search of the car, court documents show authorities found at least 10 cases of eggs, containing 60 eggs each. Guan, was denied bond, because he allegedly committed the crimes while out on felony release for unlawful flight and possession of marijuana. His next scheduled date in court is January 11.
