The states of Idaho and Arizona have signed off on an extradition request for convicted child killer Lori Vallow.

Vallow, also known as the so-called "Doomsday Mom," was found guilty in May 2023 of six charges, including the murders of Joshua "JJ" Vallow and Tylee Ryan, both of whom were her children. On July 31, Vallow was sentenced to life in prison without parole by an Idaho judge.

In mid-August, Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs signed the request and sent it back to Idaho. On Oct. 23, Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed the request.

Lori Vallow returning to Arizona

Lori Vallow, the so-called "Doomsday Mom," was convicted in Idaho of killing her two children. The governor of Idaho has signed extradition papers, meaning Vallow will return to Arizona to face murder conspiracy charges for the death of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow. Its unknown when she will return to Arizona or when the trial will begin.

This latest development came months after the Maricopa County Attorney's Office said they intend to extradite Vallow back to Arizona in connection with the death of Charles Vallow, as well as an alleged conspiracy involving the attempted murder of Brandon Boudreaux, who was the husband of Vallow's niece.

Police say Vallow conspired with her late brother, Alex Cox, who shot and killed Charles in 2019. Gilbert detectives allege Cox also shot at Boudreaux but missed.

Vallow's conviction and subsequent sentencing in Idaho were the culmination of a three-year investigation that uncovered bizarre claims by Vallow that her son and daughter were zombies, and that she was a goddess sent to usher in the Biblical apocalypse. JJ and Tylee's disappearance, as well as the subsequent discovery of their remains in Idaho, also captured national and international media attention.

Gov. Hobbs signs Vallow extradition form

Lori Vallow is one step closer to returning to Arizona. Governor Katie Hobbs has signed a form to request the extradition of the so-called 'Doomsday Mom.' FOX 10's Justin Lum reports.

During Vallow's trial in Idaho, prosecutors described Vallow as a power-hungry manipulator who would kill her two youngest children for money, while the defense team said she was normally protective mother who fell under the romantic sway of a wannabe cult leader.

Meanwhile, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office will handle logistics to house Vallow. The Estrella Jail is the all-female facility for minimum to maximum security inmates.

Vallow currently remains at the Pocatello Women's Correctional Center in Idaho. She could fight extradition to Arizona, but she has been indicted by grand juries in both cases here.
