GUADALUPE, Ariz - An investigation is underway following a deadly shooting of a teen girl in Guadalupe on July 24, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says.
MCSO says the shooting happened in a neighborhood near the intersection of Guadalupe Road and Priest Drive. In Guadalupe, the street names are Calle Guadalupe and Avenida del Yaqui.
Based on initial information, a woman was stuck and killed by gunfire, and two people believed to be responsible have fled the area, and are still at large.
The following day, MCSO stated the victim was a 16-year-old girl and deputies had arrested a 17-year-old. They are still searching for the second suspect.

Memorial grows after teen shot & killed in Guadalupe
A small memorial has been set up with some candles on the side of the street.
Deputies say the two suspects were shooting at each other when the teen girl was struck and killed. It's not clear if she knew the suspects or was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
A neighbor in the area says he's not shocked by the news.
"I'm from a rough area. It happens everywhere. I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel. You can’t stop it. It happens everywhere," Jeff Jordan said.
