The Interstate 17 heading southbound reopened after being closed for hours due to a brush fire.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says the fire is south of State Route 69, at milepost 262.

Drivers are urged to use caution in the area, use alternate routes or postpone travel.

The Bureau of Land Management says the Cordes Fire is 100% contained. Fire crews were experiencing high winds. BLM also says the fire was a quarter-mile away from structures.
