I-10 re-opens at Loop 101 after semi loses load of pipes
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Interstate 10 at the Loop 101 has fully re-opened after a semi-truck lost its load of pipes early Tuesday morning.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says the left three lanes of I-10 West were closed at the Loop 101 after a load of pipes fell of the semi-truck at about 3 a.m.
Two people were injured when they hit the pipes, one of the injured has life threatening injuries. Each of the pipes weighs over 4,500 pounds.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says one person suffered injuries as a result of the incident.
Just before 9 a.m., all lanes were re-opened.
DPS troopers are investigating if the pipes were secured or what caused them to fall.
