San Francisco Police took four students into custody after a report of a firearm on campus at Balboa High, according to San Francisco Police. San Francisco police say they also have located the firearm and a spent bullet casing.

One student is under investigation for the firearm discharge, with the three other students being investigated as possible accessories after the fact. One student sustained non-life threatening injuries unrelated to the firearm discharge and was evaluated and released to parents at the scene. No other students were injured in this incident.

Balboa High was on lockdown while police did a "methodical search" of the campus, but that lockdown has since been lifted.

Denman MS, Leadership High School, San Miguel Early Education School were also on lockdown due to an abundance of caution.

During the lockdown all of the students were kept on campus, in classrooms with the doors locked, according to a school spokesperson.

KTVU spoke with a teacher who was on lockdown with 30 students. The teacher said everyone was safe and "hunkered down" in the classroom.

Daly City schools were on lockdown too, but that lockdown has since been lifted.
