Florida man accused of drawing school attack on child's homework
PORT ST. JOE, Fla. (FOX 13) - A disturbing drawing on a student's homework assignment led to the arrest of a Florida man.
Gulf County police began investigating on Friday after school staff at Port St. Joe Elementary found the picture. The drawing, according to Gulf County Sheriff's Office, depicted a school house on fire, a stick figure appears to be running from the school on fire and a line of stick figures standing and being shot by an individual. The image included to people on the ground in what appeared to be a pool of blood. The words, "Pew, Pew, Pew," were written next to what appears to be the shooter.
Deputies determined 33-year-old Robert Paul Alexander Edwards from Mexico Beach, FL drew the images. He was arrested and charged with a written threat to kill or do bodily injury. Deputies did not disclose the relationship between the student and Edwards.
Gulf County Sheriff Mike Harrison said in a statement there was no reason to believe Edwards was going to carry out the threat.
