PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A 22-year-old Valley man is found shot to death at a Phoenix bus stop, and investigators are still gathering clues into his death.
Right now, they have little to go on, but the man's family is hoping someone out there can help catch his killer.
Jose Estrada's family describe the 22-year-old as a kind man: the kind that wouldn't get into an argument or get into trouble, and the kind that would do anything for his family.
"He cared so much about his family," said Ana Estrada, Jose's sister. "He had a big heart."
Estrada was trying to do better. He was looking for new jobs, in hopes of a better life for his girlfriend and his two-month-old daughter Trinity.
Trinity was a young girl who changed Estrada's life.
"He would always be hugging her, he would never want to let go," said Ana. "He'd always be, 'Daddy's here', kissing her and kissing her. He just always wanted to hold her. He just changed into a better person."
Jose was found shot to death near a bus stop at 27th and Montebello early Tuesday morning. The family is stunned.
"At first, I didn't want to know because I didn't think I would handle it," said Sabrina Childs, Jose's girlfriend. "I'm still shocked about everything. It doesn't feel real at all."
"They took someone so valuable from us," said Ana. "He was such a good person."
Now that Jose is gone, his girlfriend of five years takes comfort in knowing she will always see Jose, through the eyes of their daughter.
"I am thankful, because I know she's a part of him, and I know he's always going to be here, every time I look at her," said Childs.
Police officials said the investigation is ongoing.
