PHOENIX (AP) - Former Arizona State and NFL safety Keelan Johnson has been sentenced to two months of supervised probation for assaulting a Tempe police officer last year.
Maricopa County prosecutors say the 25-year-old Johnson was sentenced Wednesday.
He pleaded guilty last month to aggravated assault.
Johnson was accused of pushing a police officer who was investigating a fight between a bouncer and an acquaintance of Johnson at a Tempe bar last July.
He had previously pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated assault on an officer and resisting arrest and was facing trial in the case.
Johnson was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in April 2013 but was waived that fall. He signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in September 2013 and was released in August 2014.
